Faux Freckles by Jools

Our owner and founder Jools has been tattooing for over 10 years now. She opened 13 Needles in July 2017 and since then has put every free minute and all her heart and soul into the design, her work and the organization. For Jools, tattooing is more than just a job. It is passion and home.

Since 2024, Jools has also been offering semi-permanent freckles tattoos. Trained in Berlin by Germany’s leading studio for semi-permanent freckles, thanks to her the freckles trend is now coming to Wiesbaden.

What are “Faux Freckles”?

Freckle pigmentation is a semi-permanent tattoo on the face that is done with PMU (permanent make-up) pigments. Durability is very subjective and depends on many factors. As a rule, the freckles last 6 months and up to 2 years! The treatment lasts 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the amount. The freckles will be darker for approx. 5-10 days after the procedure – after 3-4 weeks you can see the final result.

How does it work?

We pigment the freckles by hand. Freckles are warm in tone and vary in size and shape. The goal is always to recreate the look of natural (!) freckles – not round circles. Freckles are more intense when first applied, but fade during the healing process and appear soft and natural after healing is complete (after about 7 days). In order to create a super natural result with dimension, different color shades and needle sizes are used. Whether color, shape (even hearts are possible!), intensity or number, together we select the appropriate areas and individual preferences for an all-round satisfactory result. Freckle tattoos are usually placed on the nose and upper cheeks, i.e. where the sun hits the face – so the freckles look as natural as possible. Forehead, temples, upper lip, décolleté and chin are additional options. The goal of Freckles tattooing is to place the dots “sporadicly” and unevenly, i.e. “as randomly” as possible. We recommend bringing reference pictures with you. If necessary, we can hold a consultation in advance and we will clarify everything else before your session.

Is my skin suitable for faux freckles?

All skin types can get semi-permanent freckles tattooed. Oily skin may require more frequent retouching, as may the use of retinoids and chemical peels.

What packages are there and which one is right for me?

The number of freckles desired influences the treatment time and therefore also the price. We don’t count the rungs but go by feel.

Package S – 200€

A partial area, e.g. just the nose or just the cheeks – approx. 20-50 sprouts distributed.

Package M – 300€

Approximately 50-100 freckles on several areas or the entire face, depending on personal preference

Package L – from 450€

Full face, i.e. more than 100 freckles spread across the entire face.

Retouching

..is not included in the price as retouching is not always necessary. Retouches within 6-12 weeks cost €100. If you want to upgrade to the next higher package when re-piercing, this will cost €100 in addition to the retouching price.
